WATER SPACE - LIGHT SPACE
Magnification of a Transcendent Infinite World
8. Juli 2016 - 26. Oktober 2017
From sketches to drawings, collages to objects, photographs to multi-media shows, this body of works defines its own specific kind of aesthetic and style. Personal obsession with and observation of the underwater and the natural world lead to a specific concept of world – Eiffel’s World. It attempts to envisage what things might be like in the future, fantastic worlds and possible perspectives. Strong images show the search for the unknown, tactile manifestations of invisible technologies, to liberate art, space and architecture.
COLLAGES
Eiffel’s collages bring the beauty of nature to our attention and open up our perceptual horizon. They are executed as a series of “imaginary portraits” originating from his mind. Eiffel employs sculptural and three dimensional elements allowing a great diversity and encouraging enrichment of the harmony expected of art.The objects of his collages no longer delineate frozen forms– they have become movement. Vivid objects lead the eye of the observer through the three dimensional pictures. In style and subject matter, Eiffel’s collages show his way of dealing with the contemporary world while retaining elements of the classical tradition.
MULTI-MEDIA
(Photography, Prolages and Soundtrack)Images, that challenge our perceptual horizon, created by permeating light.Sounds, that underline, increase and encourage sensual and spatial impres- sions. This multi-media show is a vehicle that takes spectators away from the physical world, enticing them to an unfamiliar environment: - vibrant, peaceful, colourful...
It puts our body scale against the perceptual world of dynamic and ex- panding, disorientating and gravitational, floating and structured space. It divorces our mental from the physical world: spectators construct their own specific sensual environment. The present set of work forms part of the ongoing experiment “Interweaving Space”.
